Corporate Case Study 1
A small engineering company engaged our services to investigate an employee who had been absent from his work for approximately 18 months out of a 2 year period due to sickness. The employee was citing a repetitive strain injury as the reason for prolonged periods of absence, although the business owner had received reliable information indicating that the employee in question was actually suffering from alcoholism and this had been the real reason behind the extended periods of sickness leave.
Targeted observations by Mission Investigations operatives uncovered that the employee was drinking very heavily at local Public Houses and in addition was regularly taking home large quantities of strong alcoholic beverage. After several periods of successful surveillance, enough video evidence was gathered to show that alcohol abuse was the key factor involved. The employee was later lawfully dismissed with the help of the evidence that had been collated.
